ceeb

ceeb: rice

In Senegal, it is rice all the time. Rice cooked in broth so it comes out all brown and rich with flavor, mixed with crunchy spices and topped with the most delicious fish and vegetables (ceebu jenn or kaldu). White rice and chicken ladled over with the best onion sauce I’ve ever tasted (yassa poulet). Rice in a dark reddish tomato gravy, or in a thick peanut sauce gravy, or in a thick tamarind sauce gravy, all with tender beef bits mixed in. I’ve never had rice like this before, but it certainly is delicious!
